Brake System Troubles
Ok here goes- I have a 66 with a 350 engine. I have been completely redoing the truck from frame off...... I have new brake lines from front to rear.... Disc on the Front... Drum on the back... a new master/booster combo from Tuff- stuff.... I have completely redone the rear drums all new stuff... as well as the fronts... I used the old calipers though because they are in really great condition. Here is the problem... after completely bleeding the system, I have a great hard brake pedal until I crank the engine, then the pedal goes right to the floor........ I have re-blead the system and checked all the line connections...
???? anyone have any answers as to how to fix this ???? Thanks, Keith |

Re: Brake System Troubles
Are you getting a good straight stream out of each bleed valve? Did you top off the reservoir?

Re: Brake System Troubles

Re: Brake System Troubles
I checked them and the are rubbing the pads when I turn them. I have also spoken with another guy, and he said to check the vacuum when the motor is at 2500 RPM. I did and still no luck. .... I bleed the line into a bottle of fluid bubbles come out I shut it down when the bubbles disappear. I do this on all 4 wheels. I have a really hard pedal, I start it up and the pedal goes right to the floor. I start over bleeding and bubbles come out.....I've done this process about 6-8 times.... UUUGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!
Can you say frustration!!! Keith |
