Under Cab booster?
Anyone using an under the cab booster like this one? if so did you have any issues? I am not sure i like the firewall mount look but want to see if the trans cross member is an issue.

Re: Under Cab booster?
The mount on that looks weak. I built my own out of welded 3/16 stock and still had to add a brace to keep it from moving when I pushed the pedal. It's amazing how much force is there.
EDIT - I added a photo of my access door....

Re: Under Cab booster?
Access is a bit of an issue. According to my measurements, the reservoirs end up below the stiffner across the floor of the cab located at front of seat, which obviously should not be cut out. Only about an inch from floor to top of reservoirs. I cut another round hole behind original access hole.
I have my cab off and can get to it easily now to mount, hook up lines & bleed system but will be difficult to get to, if I ever need to, once the cab is mounted and seat is replaced. Much easier to get to if under hood at firewall. My $.02 |

Re: Under Cab booster?
Ugh, I hate the lack of clearance I have with mine. Trans crossmember sucked and exhaust sucked, I made it work though and it seems to work well. If I had to do it again I would get the set up that tucks up under the dash.

Re: Under Cab booster?
Haven't got to exhaust yet but yea, tranny crossmember is close too (-3/4"). You need the one that angles down away from frame, not the one that is fairly straight.

Re: Under Cab booster?
Bit of a space issue with these but they do work. I found the one I put in did not work with the original hole in the floor for the pedal. Also it is a bit of fun to fill with fluid. I used a small inspection mirror with a bottle and short piece of hose to fill resevoir with fluid. A remote filler set up would be great.
I had to rework my trans cross member.

Re: Under Cab booster?
i've got one and it's just fine.no real mods other than that section of the frame is boxed in, on my truck. Due to some kid who jumped it back in 84 and cracked the frame (guilty as charged!). so i had to adjust the mount but nothing big!. over all i don't really notice any issues....

Re: Under Cab booster?
sure hear lots about tranny mount issues and exhaust clearance. read somewhere where the truck owner just mounter his further back and used a some heavy duty round stock to activate brakes.

Re: Under Cab booster?
Scotts Hotrods and Kugel makes an under the dash. For some reason I thought that Justin said they make them for Kugel. Maybe not.

This how or what the remote fill looks like in my 71. The brakes are ECI.
