I would keep your rear gears stock, hopefully you have 3.73's or something like that. Then I would go with a OD tranny, either a 700R4 or a 2004R, the 200 has a better OD gear, so for mileage that will probably be the best. The reason why i said to keep the rear gears stock, you don't want to driving around town bogging the engine, or just have all around poor performance while on city streets, but thats just me. Depending on your engine you'll probably get some where between 13-15 mpg.

shooting for 1800-2000 rpms at 60mph seems to work pretty good generally speaking
I had a TPI 350/700R4 and with the stock 3.08 gears, it was too low in the rpm band and I gained mileage by switching to 3.73s. Good luck! |
