what is this?

The spring thing mounted on the fender? I am thinking it is some kind of ballast resistor setup for the headlights? Or? I dont have the truck home yet so I cant trace the wires, there is a brake controller on the dash too so maybe something to do with that?




its a 64 1 ton dually stakebed and is my new project. I will post better pictures when I get the title and drag it home this week.

Looks like a resister for trailer brakes. They were common back in the 60's/70's.
