light weight front suspension
lookin got get a couple pounds of the front end of the truck.
got a new job, more money so i wanna re do my front suspension. like put on either strange struts ( i already hate the strut towers coming through the fire wall) or get some good tubular control arms with adjustable coiler overs. im also going to remove the factory crossmember and weld a tube in there to take its place and gusset it for strength. i want to loose as much weigh in the front as possible. i have motor plates so im not worried about loosing the factory engine mounts. ( i know i need the engine limiters ) also gonna switch to rack and pinion what kind of set ups are you guys running? thanks |

Re: light weight front suspension
Fatman Fab makes a bolt in kit that sounds like what your looking for.
DJ has one of these on his truck and seems very happy with it, Im sure there are many different companies making simular products but this one seems to be very easy to install and maintain. I wish I had a few extra bucks to throw at one of these myself they say you can lose up to 200 pounds off the front. Keith

Re: light weight front suspension
And if you're looking for the last little bit of weight you can get hollow bolts to put it all together.
