Drop Spindles / Rotors

My truck has 1.25" rotors up front, but I have an opportunity to get some new DJM 3" drop spindles for a 1" rotor for a good deal.

What is all involved in changing my truck to the 1" rotor? Is it just rotor and bearings? WIll the same calipers work?

Re: Drop Spindles / Rotors

I am pretty sure the calipers are different, too. Not a big deal if you already need brakes, and calipers are pretty cheap.

Re: Drop Spindles / Rotors

Re: Drop Spindles / Rotors

I just bought new calipers, but they were cheap ones, maybe I can at least save the pads. He is asking $200 for the spindles.

What are D52 calipers?

Re: Drop Spindles / Rotors

Www.perfomanceonline sells spindles everyday for $228.
Summit and Jegs sometimes have them for $209.
Unless you just want the 1" rotors it's not worth it to switch. Especially since you just bought new calipers.

Re: Drop Spindles / Rotors

A quick search of the Summit site shows DJM spindles for 229.00. If you add Delivery and Handling Charge of $11.95 shipped to 92657, the estimated total is $241.90. If you are going to have to buy all new parts, 200.00 is not a good deal.

Re: Drop Spindles / Rotors

Keith beat me to the post.

The stock calipers are D52's. I assume what Pop's C-10 is referring to are the aftermarket replacement calipers offered by Wilwood, CPP and others.
