Truck and Car harness differences
What are the differences between the truck and car harness? I am swapping in a 2004 LQ4 and want to know if there are any major differences between the car and truck harness for DBC(red/blue connectors). I have a blue/green connector harness and no computer for DBW and want to go to DBC. I am also using some 42lb LS1 car-style injectors.

Re: Truck and Car harness differences
harness length is all I can come up with, maybe a sensor or two connector. besides I think the 5.3 all alum was the only car LS2 and up, correct me if I am wrong there please.

Re: Truck and Car harness differences
length is a big difference, and I think there were no cars that came with a 4l80e so you'd have to add a second VSS if you wanted to run one with a car harness.
Depending on the year, the pigtails on the fuel injectors will have different clips on them. Trucks have the Delphi Multec II clips, which are for the short/fat stock injectors. The cars had EV-6 connectors, which are far more standard for aftermarket injectors, and are great if you want to run a cheapper aftermarket injectors...instead of paying BIG for upgraded Multec II units.

Re: Truck and Car harness differences
Running a th350 so the trans harness is not a big deal. I just found a harnes and comp out of a 2001 yukon so I should be fine now. How can I convert to the EV-6 connectors for the injectors?

Are they pinned the same as a 4th gen 99+ F-body? Some thing I did not know.

Re: Truck and Car harness differences
Ok so I just found and bought a 2001 Harness/Comp 0411 from a Yukon. Do I need to buy any different sensors? MAP, O2s and I have a 5 wire MAF(85mm)? I have a 2006 DBC w/IAC and TPS from a van is that going to work with the 01 harness and pcm?

Re: Truck and Car harness differences
That throttle body should work provided the Yukon was originally DBC, but 2001 could be DBW, that's about when they started to change them, and the higher end models like the Yukon, Tahoe and Escalades were sometimes equipped with DBW. Doesn't really matter though, because the 411 PCM will have the IAC drivers in it, so you can just change it in the tune with no problem.

Re: Truck and Car harness differences
The EV-6 pigtails can be had off of ebay fairly cheap, or you can clip a set from a junkyard car. I think I paid $20 for a set of 8. Its just 2 wires each, so its an easy adaptation.
btw LS1NOVA71, somehow I didn't notice you were on here also! Thank you so much for your help with the DBW setup on my swap.

Re: Truck and Car harness differences
so you have DBC harness and 411 PCM from the 01 yukon, and then the throttle body and tps/iac from the 2006? I think that should be fine. You might need to verify if you have the IAT in the MAF or elsewhere; some models had it integrated into the MAF, but I believe that was mainly DBW vehicles.

Re: Truck and Car harness differences
Yeah, I have parts form all over! The motor is an 04 and I wanted DBC not DBW, 01 harness and comp, 06 DBC TB and a 85mm 5 wire MAF(delphi p/n af10043). I hope it all works right!
