new radiator sizes
I have a 62 1/2 ton that needs a new radiator. It has a 400 small block automatic. Looking through the parts catalogs I have two choices for the heavy duty (3 core??) with tranny cooler. Either 21 3/4" wide or 23 1/2" wide. My current radiator is the stock 21 3/4" wide and does not have the cooling capacity. My question is - will the 23 1/2" wider radiator also bolt in? I'd rather get the wider one if either radiator will bolt in.

Re: new radiator sizes
Always go with as big as you can. You can adjust the total temperature with your thermostat, but you can't solve cooling issues with a tiny radiator
You might have a 6 cyl radiator. A V-8 radiator should bolt right up.

Re: new radiator sizes
I went ahead and purchased the same width radiator. I was afraid that the mounts and fan schroud would not match up if I went with the wider one.
I agree that the bigger the better, but didn't want to replace teh fan schroud. |
