Do you think it could fit

Do you think a rear bumper from a 73-87 could be made to fit a 66? I found a great deal on a chrome one and it looks similiar in lines to the 67-72 which would have had to be modded a little to fit anyways and am having a hard time finding a 67-72 at a decent price so was thinking of trying the 73-87 any thoughts appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Could fit. You didn't ask opinions... but 67-72 looks pretty good on 60-66. 73-87 on 60-66 is beyond bounds IMO.

I agree with Frizzle. There's something about that bumper that just doesn't fit the look of a 66 IMHO. your truck tho hope you find something that works for you!

I also agree. the 67-72 bumper is the way to go. I plan on putting one on my truck, but the 73-87 just doesn't do it IMO.

Re: Do you think it could fit

The 73+ bumper wraps around the sides a bit, so make sure it's wide enough to fit the bed. Otherwise I'd say it could fit, but I agree with others that it doesn't look right. It looks bulkier than the early bumpers, if its what you like and cheap why not though?

Re: Do you think it could fit

I saw one at a local car show 2 weeks ago... no camera
didn't look too good... they had to make a rear splash pan, because it was too narrow to wrap around the box.
that was my complaint... maybe cut the ends flush with the box, and it woould look ok...
the 73-77 fronts look good on a 60-66...
