TBI Headers

Figured since this applies to the trucks as well as the suvs, I'd put it here.

Seeing as the engines are the same, any reason that a set of headers meant for the 88-up 350 tbi trucks won't work on an 87 truck, or the 87-91 suvs?

Re: TBI Headers

Is there a spot for a o2 sensor in the tbi headers? Thats the only thing that comes to mind and that could just be plugged.

Re: TBI Headers

I don't know the specifics, but I am 99% positive there are clearance issues with the 88-98 style truck headers.
I think that you need to notch the earlier frames for clearance?

This is something I was wondering/worrying about being a problem.

Re: TBI Headers

Years ago I put headers on an 87 tbi GMC, I bought the 73-87 headers and a set of collectors with the o2 sensor bung in them. If you can't find the collectors, you can buy the regular ones and a weld on bung.
