Anyone have experience with repo doors?

My drivers door is rusted out on the inside, and if I'm going to repair that I'm going to reskin the whole door (has holes drilled in from PO, and a pretty bad smiley). I'm a bit nervous about the whole reskin job, but I'm willing to do it. Price was though the parts, and the nervousness of doing it, bring it close to my 50% threshold for deciding to repair or buy new. Anyone have any input on the new repo doors and/or the repair pieces?

Here's an earlier thread on the subject, which is not very encouraging:

Re: Anyone have experience with repo doors?

I personally don't have experience with the repo doors but met a guy here in my town at a car show that restored a 1966 4x4 stepside that used one on his restoration. He was very disappointed with the fit of the door and showed me what he didn't like about it. It did not sit flush with the cab and he first thought it was the weather stripping being to thick so he tried a thinner one and then with out weather stripping but it still would not sit flush. He said that the door was manufactured thcker than the originals and he was going to find an original door and replace it and hope that he could match the rest of the paint. I did not notice it until he pointed it out to me and it was pretty obvious.

Re: Anyone have experience with repo doors?

I am going to Carlisle to get a pair of nice factory doors. Can get real nice doors for less than the repro price.
