Pictures of Doors with Stuff Painted on Them

My wife is good at paintings and I told her she should paint something on my truck doors and she sounded somewhat intersted.

Would like to get some ideas. Figured that would help me come up with something more creative than "Mike's Garage".

So, lets see em!

Re: Pictures of Doors with Stuff Painted on Them

Here's mine, I'm am a retired sign maker so I did it myself. It's a little rough cause I haven't hand lettered anything in about 10 years and I used a can of black rustoleum from HD, I was to cheap to buy some one-shot for just this job. My truck is named "Fred" after my late father in law. "Freddy's Always Ready"is a quote he used to say, (Est) 1944 was the year he was born.

Re: Pictures of Doors with Stuff Painted on Them

I see some other style trucks,so here's the western theme job I had on my '84 Silverado and Western trucker style on my '70 CST/30. Silver paint in construction is faded. Clearwater is chrome like the horse shoes on the '84. You can't see it,but there's pinstripe between the two:

Re: Pictures of Doors with Stuff Painted on Them

Here are pictures of a pair of doors I salvaged from a junk pile. they look like they came off of a Dodge or International "ratrod". It was down by the University so it may have been someone art project too! I sold them to another guy for $10, he seemed to know what they fit.

Re: Pictures of Doors with Stuff Painted on Them

A little side note on the truck in Special-K post about the Ted Walker truck.

In 1951 or 52 53 my folks bought a new Sparten trailer from Ted Walker in Tucson and he delivered it to the trailer park with this new dooley trailer toter. I was too young to know anything about trucks but I did see that truck around Tucson for years after that. That picture brought back some memories of the early days in Tucson. I saw the truck in parts again in 2005 when I was looking for parts for my 55 GMC and now today !!!!

Thanks All !
