67-70 rear end swap in to a 55 2nd series
Not having much luck with the search option and looking for info on swapping a 67-70 1/2 ton 2wd rear into my 55. From my research it looks like the 67-70 is less then an inch narrower and the spring perches are in a different location. Anybody document or have pictures of this swap? I was hoping for 3:08`s and I have a 235 with a stock 4 speed which I was planning on leaving in place.

You might want to look for a GMC rear end as they usually have leaf springs and that will make things easier unless you intend to run the truck bars and coils.

Did not know that. Same for the GMC 67-70 for 6 bolt?

your 235 is going to be a real dog with a 3.08. You know that, right? there's reasons why they came with 3.90s and 4.11s.

Re: 67-70 rear end swap in to a 55 2nd series
I am using the truck as a daily driver and right now it has a Dodge rear with 2;7?`s Great on the highway and in 4th really motors along. What would you suggest? It is too wide and have wheel scrub on the fenders.
