What seat fits question - pics welcome

Hey guys, I'm to the point in my 49 3 window build that I'm ready to plan my interior. A seat did not come with my truck so asking for some help determining what my options are. I like the stock seat but have not located one. A local guy is parting out a 72 GMC with a good seat but not sure how that would look. I don't mind not original but want something that looks like it belongs there. All input welcome and pictures get bonus points.

What I do Is wander around a wrecking yard with my tape masure. when I find sonthing I like I drag it home and reupholster it. remember if you have a seat re upholstered the shape cam be modified. bolsters padded lumbar built up etc

I'm hoping to be able to use this electric bench seat out of the '72 Impala(doner car). I'll have it reupholstered if all goes well.

The bare one is about $300.00 that is why I like why I like the idea of modifying old seats

Found it......it was RockTonka. The seats can be made to order too...no idea on price though.

The second and third row seats from Astro and Safari mini vans fit well. The max width for a bench seat for an AD series cab is 56 inches. The seat Denee shows would be too wide for the AD but will fit her Task Force cab well.

Thanks for the post and pictures. I'm feeling it with the first picture. What is that seat out of? Just wanting to know and see what others have done and what seats work well. Sometimes what looks like a good fit at the wrecking yard may not blend so well in reality. Thinking more along the lines of simple and understated so more pics please.

that one is a modified stock seat I can tell by the mounting loops at the top.
I would Guess that the cotton batting has been replaced by foam.

I like to use the stock frame and springs as a start.
The last one I had made the guy used the upper or back part of the spring frame removed all the springs and built his own with plywood foam and cotton which made the cab a bit deeper and formed better

That would be a good way to do it. The original design springs are a bit tough to coral

I used '86 buick somerset regal buckets on my 57 big window. The somerset regal is the small front wheel drive car, not the almost fullsize rear wheel drive regal. I chopped the headrests off, and had them upholstered with new seat foam, and they sit great and don't stick up into the big back window.
I used 2X3 rectangular steel tubing, bolted them on the seat rails, and bolted the rectangular tubing to the floor at the original seat attach holes. I scalloped the tubing ends to look like an angle cut, and when I did, it exposed the lower surface of the tube to drill easy, and then drilled straight down through the lower surface.
If you attach the tubing first, you can attach the seat to the tube with c clamps, and get your best driving position, then drill the seat location points. On the center holes, I ended up over drilling the top of the tube and drilling the bottom surface to exact size. That way, you can use allen bolts and get the allen wrenches in the hole, or 7/16" bolts and a 1/4" ratchet socket on the bolt heads since the 1/4" sockets are thin wall and go through smaller holes.

Mine has a '91 silverado seat and takes up the WHOLE truck. My finger is all that fits down between the door and seat.
