Daddy Daughter time and a new project

If you have heard that new song about "just fishing" by Trace Adkins about spending time with his little girl. Change the words to "just driving" and that was my day for 8 hours.

Clean looking burb from the pic.... Nice score.
I'll bet she enjoyed the one-on-one quality time w/the old-man too.

Its the one I blew off because he said it had no rust and was original paint but even the crappy pics he sent I could see some rust. He texted me out of the blue Friday with a much lower price so I went after it.

It will be a while before I mess with it but I at least have it now and now start brainstorming and collect a part or two.

Re: Daddy Daughter time and a new project

I'm glad you had a good time with your little girl and that she was into it. My 8 y/o has the same opinion as Mom, Dad bought some old truck. My 3 y/o panics if I try to set her in the seat. Maybe my crew will be more into it when they see other people diggin it. My wife has no interest in riding in it, shes afraid that someone might see her in it. She knows I'm on this forum but doesn't know the content of the forum she thinks I'm just bloggin about my old truck and she picks on me about it. She has a knack for sprinklin gay dust on anything to make it seem dumb. I could care less because I love it!

Ok, I do have to give my little girls credit and tell you that they did sit on the sidewalk and watched in amazment as I rattle canned my truck but I think they thought I was gonna get in trouble for spray painting my truck.

Jeez, I wish I could fit under a dash like her. Looks like I need to start teaching my 5yo how to do electrical work.

Nice, I love having "little helpers". I'm only 17 so my little helper is my 3 year old brother. I think his favorite time was when he got to take a hammer to one of my old body panels.

Enjoy the time with them they grow up so fast. Just helped my son with his brakes last night (till midnight) and my other son and his K5 last weekend, (till 11:30), their both in their late twenties now but I still love working together with them like they were when they were younger.

Re: Daddy Daughter time and a new project

Since I snuck over to your place yesterday at nap time, I didn't get to bring my little girl. I think between the two of them, they could probably knock out the rest of that truck, no problem. She might be little, but she's mighty wiry.

My wife thinks the same thing! At least until I re-explained the words, PAID OFF and I did it myself because I saved a boatload that way! Then all of a sudden the truck was very nice and extremely cool that I was able to do all that work to the truck. Wonder what she will say when I decide to buy a third car as a daily driver and tear the body off the truck to fix it?

Never thought of that! Good idea! I did just find a very nice 1989-1991 GMC Jimmy, K5 style that is. It already has a lift and some decent tires, body is straight with minimal rust for an Indiana truck. Wonder how she would feel about that one pulling up in the driveway?
