Re: Speedo cable makin noises
replace it!
i have also heard that you can lubricate the speedo cable with graphite, but i don't really understand how you can get the core out without ruining the cable.

Re: Speedo cable makin noises
The core can be pulled and re-lubed if it is in good shape.
You can pull the core either from the tranny or behind the speedo in the dash. *Recommended method is to unhook both ends *Pull the core out *Examine core for any protrusions or kinks. If any are found, replace. *Otherwise, get some sort of cleaner (W-40) and squirt down the tube from behind speedo until it runs clear. *Next, take some white lithium grease and spray it into the palm of one of your hands. *Run the core thru that hand so that it is thoroughly coated. *Carefully run the core back thru the cable *Rehook and test it. *If it still makes noise, the tubing might need replacing or the speedo it self needs some work. Hope this helps.
