bump stops

Alright guys. I yanked my control arms and spidlest to day to paint them up and I relized that I never did anything to the bump stops. I have 71-72 arms and am running 3" drop springs and 2.5" spindles. anyone else out there running these (I know there are) if so did you modify yours or replace them with after market. does the bottom bs mounting bracket on the control arm need reworked. or is every thing peachy with the stock set up I don't plan on 4 wheeling but I don't want spine jerking every pot hole eather. I also don't know if they keep things from binding and if you shorten them will that caus bad effects if something were to bind while you were turning

Re: bump stops

I trim the bump stop mount off and leave just enough of the "steering stop" to contact the spindle with the wheels turned.

Re: bump stops

I did the same thing on mine. Also, I drilled a hole in the lower arms & added a traction bar snubber(rubber), as a new bumpstop. crazyL
