PNW get together?
Hey all you PNW guys... are there any plans for a get together in the Seattle metro area?
If so, I'd like to join up... if not... what would it take to get one? I'd like to get to know all the truck guys out in the area! -Rick Federal Way, wa

I don't think that there's any plans in the works tight now, but there's alot of member from this area and it shouldn't be too hard to get somehting together. I think we should go for it!
I would think that mid to late summer should be a good time, but anytime would be cool! '71

Mt. Vernon Swap Meet
Anybody going? It's at the Skagit County fairgrounds, I think weekend after next.Maybe a few of us could get together there, if not I could proabaly arrange to have everybody meet at our Cafe' in the parking lot, it would hold about 20-30 vehicles, providing the neighbor would let us use his parking lot.

There was talk of getting together at either the goodguys show or at a park sometime this summer. I don't know if anything has been set yet.

WEait for some sun. I'm planning on having my truck back together for the Greenwood Classic car show, June 28 in Seattle. I wouldn't miss The Cruz in Port Orchard, 10 August. Maybe we can make a showing at one of those events? Us west sounders can go to Buck's A&W in Port Orchard on Wednesday nights. I'll be at the Mt. Vernon swap meet, but my truck won't. Maybe we could make a run to WES' in Olympia?

I can't make the swap in Mt Vernon. Actually, I'm probably not available on weekends for a couple of months. I think mid-summer would be better anyway. You can count on rain on the weekends until at least mid June.

We were talking about getting together at the Good Guys show at the Puyallup Fairgrounds July 18, 19, and 20th. That is the biggest car/truck show in the NW. They have Drags that weekend at SIR as well...great show Friday night. The biggest swap meet in the NW during the year is the Spring Meet at Monroe on May 17 - 18th. Both events draw lots of truck guys. LeRoy was even talking about getting a booth at Monroe. This would be a good first shot at meeting. Last year we were able to get about five guys together...would be nice to shoot for about ten this year...double the size of our turnout! I was going to try to get my stepside on the road for that one. I am close...got my hood to Orence1 for primer and am working on getting an 18 gigawatt nuclear powered coil installed in the engine compartment this weekend. Pending approval from the NRC of course! Anyone have a cheap source for DU? I intend to irradiate and barbeque burgers from the bed of the stepside on Saturday. Mmmmmmm...burgers!

I am gone the weekend of 10th but I believe I will be able to go to Monroe on the 17th. I hope it happens as I want to meet some more board members.

We will be going to the Mt. Vernon swapmeet if I get over this lung infection. And also to the Monroe swapmeet. How about meeting at both and the more we meet the more idea's we can come up with. As for the Goodguys the cut off year is 1964 so that lets out most of us. How about the GM show in Graham on Fathers day?

Dennis, Last year there were lots of '67-'72's and later there. Did they change it this year? I know Craig Wick won an award with his truck in Spokane last year...it is a '67. I am confused.
BTW if I don't get my '67 running will you come down and tow me to the meet with the flatbed?

The Spokane one is open to 1972 but Puyallup is only to 1964.

I know that I will try and make any of the get togethers that are planned. I probably won't be going to the one in Mt. Vernon but I will probably make it to Monroe and The Goodguys Show. It sucks that we have to always wait and wait for the good weather.

Dennis, As long as I can sit in the drivers seat and steer I will have a big smile on my face...running or not. Just like my dog I guess...get that "air in the nose fever" and have to hang my head out the window and grin...LOL!

I know WES was talking about forming a local 67-72 GM truck club thought classic heartbeat, but I haven't seen anymore about it. Are there any Puget Sound clubs for our trucks? Now that mine is just about together, I want to get out and run with the big boys.
