front coil
any one know what the free higth of a stock small block front coil is. Im trying to compare to the drop coils i have. im just questioning if i really have a 3" drop spring or not. it seems like i have a lot of clearance but I also dont have the front sheet metal on yet. probably worring for nothing

Several aftermarket springs with the same drop,... have a different "un-installed" spring measurement.
I found this out when I had a set of ECE springs and a set of Summit Racing springs side by side. I guess it depends on the spring rate and wire diameter of the coil.
