First post have a question
I picked up a 64 swb fleet side with a 350 swap. I have been de-rigging the engine compartment - adding ac - serpentine from 92 c1500 and a few other things. I plan on doing power steering and brakes next but I have a question. This truck is 5 lug front and back with coil springs and trailing arms in the rear. It still has drums . I was under the assumption that all of these were 6 lug stock. Could this be oem 5 lug or was all of this changed by the previous owner? If it has been changed how can I tell. Are there part #s on any of the front end parts? Thanks in advance.

Re: First post have a question
5 lug = changes made somewhere along the line. Sorry no part # info, but you can assume it's been changed, 6 lug was oem for these trucks.

Re: First post have a question
Hey welcome aboard. Man sure sounds like you are way ahead of the game. These trucks are so much fun after you get over the headaches, cuts, sore muscles and empty wallets. Can we see some pictures?

Re: First post have a question
no sweat, i was just messing with ya .I dont know really the right answer since the trucks ive always had i kept 6 lug and most guys running 5 lug have gone disk brakes but i did a 5 lug drum search and seems like guys use the 71-75 5 lug drum axles or have their drums redrilled. i might be wrong but here's one of the threads i found, some of the other guys should know for sure.

Re: First post have a question
I agree....very nice truck
I don't know for sure how the PO might have converted to 5 lug with drums. Maybe they used Impala parts since they share some parts with the C10's. Or at least they do with the disc brake fronts. Kind of seems pointless to go to all that work and still have drum brakes on the front.

Re: First post have a question
I completely forgot to tell y'all about that part. When I posted that I had not even taken a wheel off yet. It has big nasty 6 to 5 lug adapters on it.

Re: First post have a question
Ok that clears up a lot of things. Any `67 to 86 whill work for a crossmember swap, for disc`s, grab entire brake system and rear axle.

Also I scored a new seat today for $45 - What a find! So much more room than my old stock vinyl.
