Re: What did you get done 10/30/2011 spooktacular halloween edition

I was able to get my junkyard speakers properly mounted and switched out all my zipties under the hood.

Who needs luck when you have zipties and vice grips?

Re: What did you get done 10/30/2011 spooktacular halloween edition

I found a car on ebay a couple of weeks ago, just randomly searching. I called the owner to see what it would take to buy it, and he wanted to let the auction ride. It didn't clear reserve, so I just left it at that. I was looking at the auction to see where it ended, and my wife saw it. She told me if I wanted it, offer a little more and go get it. So that's exactly what I did.

Friday night, I flew to Atlanta, stayed the night, and caught a ride over to Canton, GA where the car was. About an hour later, I was driving my one owner, 73K mile 1990 Lincoln Mark VII LSC SE home. I have had quite a few of these cars, and have always wanted a black SE. It made the 800 mle drive home with no issues, and got over 22 MPG at 80 the whole way. I haven't fallen in love with the Impala that I bought to drive everyday, so I am on the fence to use this car everyday, or hang on to the Impala and save this one.

I blacked out my taillights and side markers...just a thin coat of rattle can black, followed by clear. Looks pretty good, and still plenty bright. Works for me!

Re: What did you get done 10/30/2011 spooktacular halloween edition

Saturday was rainy and cool so I worked on my couch posture. Sunday was yard work and juggle around my fleet. Needed to get my Chevelle in the garage for some gaskets, intake and valve cover and a general cleaning. Since I had everything moved around I decided to grab a quick family photo......

I should have cut my grass before the picture was taken! LOL! Kind of like your kid getting a school picture without combing their hair.

Stuff i got done.

1. reconnected all wiring for the wipers (was cut for some reason)
2. New locks for the doors and ingition (all keyed the same)
3. Installed new carpet from Classic Industries
4. Installed new bench seat cover from Classic industries
5. Dyed Kick Panels black.

Had a friend that wanted me to take place in his wedding caravan, and I spent Saturday from 7am -1pm buffing and polishing and then about another two or so hours cleaning it to have it ready by 4:30 Still need to clean out the small creases but car didn't look to bad I think:

Had the absolute pleasure of some guy wrecking my truck today. It isn't real bad, but the driver's frame horn is tweaked and it only turns one direction.

Pulled the '81 seat out, looked at the donor from a '93 and was rudely awakened. Time to get creative. I want head rests on a bench.

Check out my 83 build...They are not hard to adapt to the factory 83 seat rails. And VERY worth it.

Thanks, I was looking at that from your link on Facebook. Looking at cannibalizing the framework under the seat cushion from the '81 and bolting on to the '93, as I can't use a MIG welder without either running it off of a portable generator or rewiring my house (long story).

I dumped my break in oil at 700 miles. On inspection of the oil, I found a bunch of red flakes. After panicing a little, I figured out that the flakes came from the oil filter. My strap wrench shredded the STP logo right off of it.
