67-72 Ram Horns on a 79?
Ok, so I've searched and searched, but haven't been able to find a definitive answer.
I've currently got leaky headers on my 79. It's got a crate 350/400. Tired of ripping my hair out over these headers, so I've been looking at the stock ram horns from the 67-72 pickups. I've read that the Corvette ram horns, with the straight down 2.5 inch outlets, can be a pain to fit on our trucks, but what about the truck versions? Both the pass. and driver side are angled back, so I don't see what the problem would be. Has anyone done this? Thanks!

Had some on my 79 Sierra Grande 4x4 when I first got it. Not sure what they were off of but they fit good.

Thanks for the replies, fellas. My truck's a 4X2, do you think that'll make a difference?

The Corvette ramhorns fit just fine...

Hey N2TRUX,
How does the downpipe exit your ram horns? Does it go straight down and then make a 90 degree bend straight to the mufflers? It looks like that's what you did on the pass. side, at least. My truck rides at stock hight, if that makes any difference. I only ask because it would be great to just buy 90 degree piece and do it all myself, as opposed to having custom pipes bent. Thanks!

As far as I can tell, by eye-balling it, the straight-down Corvette ones will fit. Maybe need to trim the motor mount a little.

Yeah, I don't see any issues. I'm just worried abou the pipes coming down at a tricky angle.
