The 1953 Chevy 5 win Build

Ok guys here we go. My name is Josh and i live in arkansas. Have been a car builder for a long time now and i own my own business doing any type of apparel printing, Vinyl graphics/sticker printing and more. I also paint and powdercoat. So it was it is now time to build a truck for my best friend who will be leaving for IRAQ in June 2012. Here are the pictures so far. We just picked it up.
I have also purchased a good 1996 Chevy S10 SWB LB for the frame swap.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Looks like a good one to start out on. I'm in Arkansas myself and fixing to start on a '49 GMC I bought not long ago. Doing a S10 swap too. Good luck with the build and keep us updated. Looking forward to seeing what you have in store.

Yeah I know where co-part is. Never been able to get in though since I don't have a license. I've been doing bodywork for over 10 years but never had my own business. If you're ever down this way and have some old parts for these old trucks to get rid of, let me know. I could use a few parts to patch up some rust on my ride.

I wish I was closer, I'd donate a pair of front fenders, bumper and a hood to that project that while not perfect would save you a lot of hours work getting them spiffed out for paint.

Yeah that would b awesome. To bad you are not closer. We are trying to decide if we are going to bag it or not or just go with a low static drop. Going to run a set of 20" torque thrust grey wheels and. 2 tone paint.

Wow, a ton of work and missing parts there. It may not seem like much, but if you are going to keep the dash original, thats several hundred worth of missing parts. I would find another one in either better condition or with more parts and combine the two.

No will. It be a lot original. Be a lot of metal work and fiberglass. So not really worried about any of the original stuff. We picked this one bc of what it didn't have. We have options of some more that are 100 percent complete. But didn't feel the need to equate the parts we would be scrapping of of it for the build and look we are going for.

Good attitude, don't pay extra for things you are going to take off and sell or throw away anyhow.

At least most of the panels look workable even though they will take a few extra hours.

I'd go for the static drop and be done with it. I don't like the broken down look of bagged trucks with the bags aired out. They all look like the Dukes of Hazzard just jumped them over another car and they landed flat in the grass at the fairgrounds.
