After Market Headlight Install!!
So the first thing I bought after I got this truck was aftermarket lights of Amazon due to how horrible the stock bulbs are and to be able to swap out bulbs with ease so I finally installed them... Now it took a bit of modification.
#1 You have to modify the hole in the plate about 1/4" all around #2 you have to cut the wiring harness into a square setup #3 You have to move your battery to get to the passenger side All in all it was easy and just took a little elbow greese and a sharpie lol Anyone else have there? Your thoughts on them? |

Re: After Market Headlight Install!!
Same headlights as matrix on summit I bought the 4x6 versions as soon as I found out I had to modify the headlight buckets I promptly returned them the h4 clips didn't work for crap and the quality was crap as well but if they work better for u with the rounds go ahead lol for an h4 swap one shouldn't have to ever cut the headlight buckets that's just poor design IMO

Re: After Market Headlight Install!!
Yeah I understand that and a 1/4" didnt seem like a big deal to me so I just made the cuts and it worked pretty good.....The light output seems pretty good

Re: After Market Headlight Install!!
Yah the light output is good I assume yours came with free bulbs as well? Try running relays and sylvania silver stars if you want to try and get the max out of them. Doo at least some relays and get rid of the voltage drop from the headlight switch

Re: After Market Headlight Install!!
A relay is hooked directly to the battery and is basicly a bypass switch that takes power directly Colton the batter and routs it to the headlights this gets rid of any resistance from the headlight switch and firewall connections basicly making your lights brighter all your headlight switch does is turn on the relays at that point and the relays give direct power to the lights

Re: After Market Headlight Install!!
If you do a quick search for headlight relays in the search bar there should be a write up of how to do it

Re: After Market Headlight Install!!
I bought similar ones from LMC and they required absolutely no mods to the truck at all, other than re-aiming the lights afterwards. I installed a relay harness at the same time which took care of the connector problem.

Re: After Market Headlight Install!!
Check out this thread from 08. They look alot better in my opinion. They are the same lights in my wifes Patriot and the are very bright from the factory and look really nice.
Hope this helps. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=318973
