Don't know how prices run up in the Northeast but in my corner of the woods that would be way too high. Probably 3X.

it might be better to find one for your price and have it transported in to your area.

Way too high, at least it would be in SoCal. Here that truck would sell for closer to $5,000 max. It is a decent strating point but it needs plenty. Move on.

Re: is this a good buy? 1956 chevy
Be very careful if you buy one that's too far away to go look at. It's easy to make an old truck look much better in pictures than it really is. Good luck and happy hunting.

Re: is this a good buy? 1956 chevy
there is a dealer in MN that has a 56 that looked ok by the pictures. too far to me to drive so i asked him for pictures of everything and he refused to take them. when i asked him why he wouldnt take anymore he said if i want to see that much of the truck then i can buy it and look at it on my own time. HA

Re: is this a good buy? 1956 chevy
If its not rusted out it seems to me to be worth 5-6 G's Its hard to find anything decent for less then that. Even if he says he wont take less it wouldn't hurt to make an offer. I have bought stuff less then the "firm" price.

We have all gone that route, getting too much in them. He can't eat it though.

Re: is this a good buy? 1956 chevy
save his email and check back in a mth or 2.
he might figure the right price by then. that said; it's worth what you want to pay for it.

Re: is this a good buy? 1956 chevy
I like the statement in the first add " ill strip it down put new parts on it and paint it and it will be worth 21k". I always want to ask these people why they haven't done it then.
You want to avoid sellers like this at all costs, thats a sure sign theyve lost thier mind or just got done watching 36 hours of barret jacksons on the speed chanel. You should be able to find a good clean rig for the price range your in. If you have to go out of state you can probably find a board memeber to go look at it and take picures for you. Most guys on here would do that. Good luck. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: is this a good buy? 1956 chevy
You would think for 8 large he could spend $20 at carpet barn for rug to put down, or maybe that is part of the 21K package? No under side pics means its leaking like crazy and exhaust is questionable in my mind. Rattle can black is hiding the old damage. Hope the plywood has new paint. His attitude tells it all. I stopped in at a local dealer to look at 65 Malibu in worse shape than mine at 2x the realistic price and the guy started ripping in to my car (I was driving the 64) as a defense for his price! He must have went to the same sales school as Mr. Georgia.
