Are 55-59 frames the same?

I have a 58 1/2 shortbed that has a pretty cobbled up frame. Will a 55-57 frame have the same mounts and what not? I assume so but wanted to check. Thanks.

Re: Are 55-59 frames the same?

Like diesel said the front rails are 3" longer. Radiator support, crossmember, spring shackles, etc. are the same. Longer nose means 4 lighters get to the finish line first!

Re: Are 55-59 frames the same?

Thanks guys! I bought a 58 with a 2 headlight clip (56) on it and the frame is a little shaky. I plan on putting a rear steer Nova subframe on it so the longer length shouldn't bother since I have to make my bumper brackets anyway. I'll have to take a look at the current frame and see how they made the clip and front bumper work.

now listen up guys, you know you would rather have a 2 breasted woman than a 4 breasted one. the same goes for trucks. When they called you 4 eyes in school it wasnt ment as a complament. lol

I think 3 is the max on that option. Just no room for more no matter how you do it.

Re: Are 55-59 frames the same?

lol thank god the original question was answered quick, because this thread went downhill FAST! haha.

and for my 2 cents, 55-57 are superior. Sorry, to say that there is absolutley NOTHING wrong with the 58-59 trucks... except the two extra lights

Ok if they were superior how come they stopped making them before they stopped making 58 - 59 trucks?

If you havent noticed, there was a nation wide style disaster of all automobiles in 1958. I admire everyone who adopts the kid with glasses

obviously its all a individual's opinion but I dont wanna share a trait with an Edsel haha
