Fiberglass top

I need to repaint or recoat my fiberglass top. Just wondering if anybody has done their own. Since it is flat white it shouldn't be that hard to do. Just thought I would use my HVLP gun and shoot it with some oil base commercial grade paint. Probably could even use Rustoleum, I think its only 9.00 a quart at hardware store.

If you are planning on keeping it, clean it up, epoxy prime, and single stage white with flattening agent. If it's just a beater or something you're going to sell, cheap whatever white that resists UV will be fine, just make sure it's clean when you do it.

Really went cheap on this one. I figured the worst that could happen is that it has to be repainted again. I didnt even shoot it. I got a quart can of oil based flat white Rustoleum and just rolled it on with a foam roller. Of course I cleaned the top first. Mask. Then just rolled the top. I have put three coats on so we will see how it holds up to a Texas summer. The gel coat was coming off so fiberglass was starting to show through. Had to do something. Almost looks more satin than flat. Tried to take a pic but just could not actually see anything.
