Weekend Seat Job...
SO after getting the crap beat out of me by a buigenvia plant, I decided to do something “fun” this weekend. I decided to finish replacing the bench seat in my 64 with a pair of bucket seats I had picked up. I ran across these seats after riding in a work car …I had thought they would make a good replacement in my project truck. As faith would have it about a month later I saw an ad in the paper where a guy was parting out a similar car. I called on the seats and after seeing them in place I bought them for $75. The guy said if I could wait till tomorrow he’d remove them for me and I could pick them up. I had to get my truck over there to pick them up anyway so I agreed. Next day he had them out as promised, but for the first time I see how they are mounted! GM decided to save money and not build a frame under the seat; they just molded the bottom of the cab to mount directly to the seat! SO I had to fabricate “something” to be able to do this. The pictures below is what I came up with.

Re: Weekend Seat Job...
Looks good.
I now have a glimpse of how my seats will look in my 65. They look real similar to the Pontiac Fiero seats a friend gave me. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Weekend Seat Job...
Looks killer...I've had quite a few rounds with buganvillas myself. They jump on you if even think about doing yard work.

![]() Do they sit any lower, or back any further than the original bench? |
