Wiring Diagrams for Dome Light & Cargo Light

Men,

Does anyone have their hands on wiring diagrams for a dome light and cargo light? I am thinking about adding a dome light which I just picked up and the junkyard to my 82' as well as a cargo light. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

Re: Wiring Diagrams for Dome Light & Cargo Light

The courtesy/cargo/dome lights are all on the same circuit.Running along the driver's side, under the door sill plate will be an orange wire, and a white wire. The orange wire goes to the cargo light/courtesy lightswitches, and the white comes out of the switches,to the lights. The cargo/dome/courtesy lights, all ground through their mounting screws. The cargo light should have its own switch,or it will come on any time the dome/courtesy lights do.

Re: Wiring Diagrams for Dome Light & Cargo Light

How come when I increase my dimmer switch to MAX only my floorboard courtesy light comes on. My overhead dome lamp doesn't come on unless I open the doors. Also, I don't think the floorboard courtesy lamp comes on when I open the doors.

Re: Wiring Diagrams for Dome Light & Cargo Light

Ok.Same year as mine.Mine doesn't have tilt/cruise/delay wipers. The headlight knob, when turned LEFT,will come to a stop, and a slight turn more, should turn on the dome lite, without turning on the lower courtesy lites,as it by-passes the cicuit, and feeds direct from the headlite switch. In the left kick-panel,you'll find an orange wire that feeds the door switch.t-off from it,to a toggle switch, and run from the toggle switch,to the cargo light,so it works separately.
