Rear end swaps(Ford 9/Gm 12 Bolt)
My truck already has a Eaton HO32 swapped from the PO. Its alright and everything but I'm really more or less interested in a posi rear end(There hard to find for a HO32). But I want to be able to keep my 6 lug 15x10 corvette rallys. My question is can i get a ford 9" with the Chevy 6 lug pattern or am I stuck with having to use a GM 12 Bolt. What other swaps would be good for me. One day my truck might get up into the 400+ hp range. So I want a strong rearend I wont have to replace all the time. Also I plan on getting a tko600 kit in the future if that makes a difference. My other questions are what are the differences between the chevelle car style 12 bolts and the truck ones. I'd like to know what would be involved in either of the swaps to get it done right.
Heres some pictures of my truck for your time Last edited by Stevo427; 04-07-2012 at 03:42 PM. |

Re: Rear end swaps(Ford 9/Gm 12 Bolt)
Strange Engineering, Moser or Currie can build you a Ford 9" with 6 lug bolt pattern axles. It's my understanding the GM 12 bolt car rear ends are stronger than the truck 12 bolts and the parts don't interchange but I don't know the differences between the two.
