Valve Covers
For A Few weeks Now I Noticed I Had A Oil Leak From My 86 2500 with the 350, i thought maybe my rear main seal was bad or something, well today i got around to oil change and tune up when i pulled the plugs all the threads had oil on them i knew then that it was not my rear main seal but it was my valve covers leak i have the Edelbrock Signature Series Chrome Valve Covers on it, i went to a local high performance auto part store and he recommended me the blue rubber gaskets, they looked pretty thick and really good, i heard about the chrome valve covers leaking so i sanded the bottom of them down and painted them with some high temp black to keep them from rusting after letting the paint dry i then reinstalled the covers with the new gasket and went for a ride around the block i crawled under the truck to pull the oil drain plug and i noticed the back side of the valve cover had oil leaking. What should i do to fix the problem?it kinda ticked me off because i spend half a day figuring it out and fixing it and found out it still leaks. My Question is it worth screwing with again or should throw the cheap Edelbrock covers away and order the Edelbrock ALUMINUM Baffled Valve Covers from Summit Racing? i want to stick with Edelbrock. Thanks
