Std gauges to Deulxe question

I have a 6cyl with the idiot lights. I want to change to the deluxe gauge cluster. Can i just plug my deluxe harness into my std harness. Will i have to get the correct sensors or are they the same? I obviously will have to run a hard line for the oil pressure gauge.
Thanks

Re: Std gauges to Deulxe question

The main underdash harness and engine harness are completely different. You cannot just plug in the new cluster. The ammeter has to be wired, the temp guage goes from 2 wires to one, the oil line has to be plumbed. The only plug that is the same is the fuel guage. You also have to replace the temp sending unit from warning light to guage. You have to get rid of the oil sending unit and just plumb the line in.

Re: Std gauges to Deulxe question

You can modify the original harness to work, as long as you make the modifications mentioned above. I did the conversion myself, but the PO hacked up the wiring pretty good so I replaced all the wiring which made my conversion a little easier, although more expensive.
