1969 - 1972 interior differences

I tought you folks on here would be able to allow me to stop searching the Internet finally. I have a 70 Blazer and want to replace the seat covers. I have buckets in the front obviously and a non-armrest rear bench. After talking with Harmon's, they have a part number for the front buckets but not the rear bench in black. Thus this raises questions.

Did the vinyl interior change from yr to yr on these year Blazers; pattern or type of vinyl?
Does anyone have a picture of an original, black preferably, interior for a '70? Would you order the '71 black vinyl covers for a '70 since Harmon's does not have a part number for the '70 rear bench?
And lastly, who else makes covers for our Blazers?- as close to OEM as possible.

Thanks in advance everyone.

I would pass on Harmon's then. There are other vendors that carry the 69-70 pattern, and will have fronts and rear. Also, make sure that you have "sport" bucket seats before ordering. There were also the wider "utility" buckets that were used and the sport covers will not fit them. Trevor

Re: 1969 - 1972 interior differences

The Utility Buckets are wider than the sport buckets and the backs do not taper. They have metal backs. If you have the Utility type buckets, there is no one that I am aware of who makes covers. Here is a utility bucket:

There is a member vendor "Truckseats" on the forum that might be able to help you out. There are rear seat covers available from many vendors. The back of the back seat originally had a black vinyl with stripes molded into it. I haven't seen that in a reproduction, but the fronts of the rear seat are close to original.

Thanks a lot fellas. I need to figure out which seats I have. I will most likely post a couple pics here and ask for your help. Much appreciated.

Re: 1969 - 1972 interior differences

So I'm still unsure of how exactly to tell if a seat is a "Utility" seat or a custom bucket. Here are pictures of my K5 with obviously already covered at one time seats. There are no metal backs. From what I've seen, the covers would seem to be more like the customs, but I don't want to order the custom covers if they are "Utility" seats. Even after looking through the other threads, I am not confident I know.

What do you guys think?

Re: 1969 - 1972 interior differences

I have driven this vehicle since it was new, If you look at the back of the drivers seat and see the metal cover, that is a easy way to tell the difference. These seat have been redone and the original covers were really plain.

Re: 1969 - 1972 interior differences

Thanks a lot for all the help. I'm going to take a chance on the sport bucket covers. These seats have been recovered obviously at one time, and do not have the metal backs on them.
