Restored my 73-74 Door panels
I got a pair of used 73-74 door panels (liked better than 75-76) and restored them this weekend. I used the SEM dye color is Landau Black. Im not going back with woodgrain and these had seen better days and have a few dings so I painted the black to match the rest of the black/chrome interior.
whatcha think?

Looks mint. My 76 scottsdale has those door panels in it although different woodgrain, I didn't know they weren't original to the truck.

Re: Restored my 73-74 Door panels
I am pretty sure your door panels were available in 73-76. Depending on trim level you would get no woodgrain at all. The middle level had the small strip like you have on yours. The top of the line (Cheyenne, et al) had the large woodgrain trim panel that goes up over the top of the plastic door panel. Clearly that changed with the new door panels in 1977. By the way, that is a very good look on your panels.

Re: Restored my 73-74 Door panels
I always thought it was base truck no trim, next up was woodgrain with a black border, and top line was woondgrain with a scroll western type border all that went up and over where your arm would rest.
my original is like the last one pictured

it simply looks killer. sometimes you get more pride in restoring a part not having to be a restauration expert

Those look like a million bucks! Good job.
Here is a link to a guy that did his '72 door panels. He goes through the whole process. Scroll down to post 1380. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...401176&page=56

Re: Restored my 73-74 Door panels
Those look real nice. I wanted to put some of the earlier door panels on my '78 because I think they look better, but then when I popped my panels off, i saw all the extra holes.
