new options for suburban speakers...

K...so I've been setting up the stereo system in my 1990 burb for high sound quality and I've fabbed up my own component 4x10 replacement baffles that fit in the stock speaker covers. This allows very nice sound quality combined with a stock appearance and the wiring requires a series speaker wiring arrangement. PM me for details...if I get permission from the site administrator, I might offer these CAD designed/CNC cut baffle a for sale.

Re: new options for suburban speakers...

Here's a pic of my 4x10 speaker baffle-it actually houses (2) 3.5" loudspeakers and (1) tweeter. I'm currently working on a nice speaker baffle cover for the rear to seal them off from the moisture prone deadspace behind them. Currently, I'm running a JBL 4-channel/bridgeable ampflifier which powers 12 speaker so far and I am adding another 4-channel amp to handle more midbass drivers, center channel speakers and tweeters and a third mono amp for the subwoofers-(2) 8" woofers and (1) 12" woofer. The truck will be setup with 7.1 sound when I'm done.

The tweeter is handling 50 watts while the loudspeakers are managing 30 watts each.

Here's a backview of the speaker enclosure-the speakers are all rated @ 2 ohms.

Here's the factory cover with a custom black screen mesh insert to hide the speaker faces-notice the little spot I found for a 5.25" midbass driver...

Nice job turning that spot into something useful.

Re: new options for suburban speakers...

yea, looks better than mine. i cut the hole out for a 6x9 and used the new pioneer grills and made up some 22ga pieces to cover the old holes up better. works great but not as clean, luckly i made up for the look with 2 more 6x9s, 4 tweeters, two 4in rounds, 1 1800watt amp, 1 400watt for the 6x9s, and 2 JL W3s problem solved and it will shake a quarter on my Sub. People always ask why in a mud truck, until they ride in it then they understand...
