Steering Column Help
I have a 77 c10 with a cab from an 87 and I want to buy a rebuilt steering column, I have noticed that the columns change in 78, What are the differences? Should I get the older or newer model or does it matter?

Re: Steering Column Help
Match the harness installed in your cab.
There are several iterations of the half-moon wiring harness connector. In 83 or 84 the dimmer moved from the floor to the column.

Re: Steering Column Help
IIRC, 73-78 has a splined connection to the intermediate shaft and 79-87/91 has a DD connection.
73-83 has a floor mounted dimmer switch and 84-87/91 has a column mounted dimmer switch. 73 only has a slightly different steering wheel mount setup. I'm sure others can confirm or correct this. Posted via Mobile Device
