Oil Presure
Just got my oil presure Gage working again, for some reason the blue wire to the sender unit was not connected. By luck I found a tan wire coming out of the firewall block that controlled the dash Gage. There must be a mix up in the wiring under the dash somewhere that I have yet to hunt down. My question now is what should be the operating Presure for the oil, mine is just over 400Kpa, normal?

Re: Oil Presure
That is about 60 pounds of pressure and is good side of normal.

Re: Oil Presure
Mine goes straight to 400 at idiling, then up to 410 or so Kpa, sorry for the metric but it's a Canadian car and that's all I have to go by. Not sure how to convert Kpa to psi.

Re: Oil Presure
My 73 and 83 454 C20s both had 45# at idle, very slight creep up toward 50#-60# under load. As a mechanic once told me "Don't worry about the high pressure, worry about the low pressure." If your engine is running well, then I would just look for a change in pressure (pressure drops.)
