The 6" drop in the rear is no problem, can be done with a 4" drop spring and 2" blocks, or 6" drop springs. The front though, unless I'm wrong, can't be done. The biggest drop spring for the front is a 3". And there arent drop spindles made for drum brakes, as far as I know. I've heard of dropped A-arms, but never seen/tried them before.

Cant do 4inch drop in the front with out drop spindles. Well you could it would ride like complete sh!t. YOu could airbag and get the drop that way. You could buy the 6lug disc brake conversion-its very easy to do. The disc brake swap could be done in one day with no problem. If you do a full 4 inch spring drop you will sit on the bump stops. Also drop arms hang to low. You will end up clipping one on something and breaking it. Just my $.02

I got my lmc catalog in my mail today and it has a 4/4 drop in their for the 67-70 and it says no where i need discs. ive seen 3" springs that still handle decent. back is no problem. i like the way the truck attaches sits.

You can use lowering springs and steped control arms.

Turner's crossmember will drop you 3" I believe. Though it's as much work as swapping to disc brakes. Then some springs and you'll be down in the dirt.

I know this has been a dead subject for about a month, but I thought I'd add in my .02
DJM suspension and LMC Truck both have lowered control arms that do not require disc brakes. The LMC arms are a little pricey @ $429.95, but they exist. I have no idea how much the ones from DJM are though... B |

Turner charges $260 for lowered control arms that can be used for drum brake setups. plus you get $100 core for your arms when you send them in. Net price = $160 plus shipping.
