Who makes/sells the best Front disc brake conversion kit?

Looking to convert my 70 GMC to front discs.. would like to keep as much OEM front components as possible- want to keep the 6 lug set up as I already have a nice set of 6 lug 15 x8" rallye's that should work with the new disc set up (right?)-- not interested in the cheapest kit but looking for value AND quality-- any advice is appreciated--

early classics enterprises...you can get it to fit your ball joints/tie rods and get 6 lug disc rotors

i just installed my ECE front disc kit. I went with the 5 lug kit (not sure why). It works great, only had them on there about 2 weeks but love em so far. i had to call their tech support 2x (for things i done) and they were extremely helpful. My kit was expensive but so far is worth it.

got mcgaughys. drop/disc kit.
delivered by ups. thin weak oriental cardboard that had mcgaughy logo could not contain spindles. boxs mangled from inside out.
no packing slip. no list of contents. no instructions. called mcgaughy...and finally some one picked up phone. they said it is assumed you know how to assemble. there web site does not offer any assembly instructions. i was dissapointed. the vendor i got them from told me to get someone local to install them. no help there.
live and learn. will go with bigger box name brand and more repudible vendor next time.

While I have been underwhelmed by their packaging, I've never had any issue with their product. And never received assembly instructions or a parts list from anyone.

You won't get instructions from any vendor. A service manual really comes in handy. You can also look here on the forums for tips to make installing easier.

hello leddzep - wondering what service manual should go with these drop/disc's ? not trying to be funny... but imo the manufacuters of these after market parts should provide such.
the forum is a huge thing. it is helping me do something i want to do. so dont get me wrong with my observation.
but imo my experience could have been way better with a simple inventory of parts supplied and a schematic of where they go.

A FACTORY service manual is invaluable, it will explain how all the parts go together...nobody working on one of these trucks should be without one.

ok .i do have a factory service manual. 63-66. and i have a haynes 73-87 chevy truck manual.
but they are not for the after market modification i purchased for my 66 c10 !
