454 engine
Found these number on the rear 3999289 GM 10 T or the first number could be a 8. What do u guys think it is? Didn't see any numbers on the front!!!!

That's actually one of the preferred castings. They rarely have any problem going .100 over, most will go .125 over and still have enough cylinder wall thickness for good ring seal. If it's a 4-bolt, it's about as strong of a production casting as GM made, a preferred starting point for an engine that can be run hard. Really hard.

BBC block castings up to the year 1978 had more metal throughout the castings.
After 1978, GM used less material in order to lighten up the block.

I cleaned it up yesterday and found these numbers!
1- Heads 9364 C 2-Front of block: T0111 TRH (one number had A dash under it, the second one (1) I think! |
