Re: Stock truck height
Seem to remember reading somewhere that a stock one is around 12" - 13" at the running boards.

Ok restorers we know who you are, It's time to grab the yard stick and go out in the garage and help the gent out.
I'm betting that with stock 16 inch wheels and tires the top of the running board is ten inches off the floor. |

Re: Stock truck height
Wow that surprises me it was that "low" stock. Although I gotta admit I have a problem understanding how it can be 8 3/8" center front axle to the ground when rims were 16"... They must have had some really low profile tires

Re: Stock truck height
A 650/16 tire is right at 29-1/4 inches tall so figuring the spindle is 14-1/2 inches off the ground the bottom of the I beam axle should be pretty close to 8-3/8 off the ground/floor on a stock truck.

Re: Stock truck height
Ahh now I see. I went and looked at some dimensions for other years which were clearer. It looked to me in the link above like they had the center of the front rim at 8 3/8...

Re: Stock truck height
I took some very rough measurements of my 53 before I tore into it.
Maybe this will help....
