Re: are these mounts v6 or v8
It looks like they are in the holes for a V8. I'm thinking that the set of holes closer to the front are for the six.
There are two pairs of holes in the crossmembers, the front pair is for the six and the back pair is for the V8. you can still get the rubber pieces from Napa and probably most other parts houses. |

Re: are these mounts v6 or v8
So would these be able to securely hold a 350 engine or would I need some side to side support like in orrieg's build?

Re: are these mounts v6 or v8
mr48 I am going to respectfully disagree with you. The V8 had a bracket that that used the holes as mounting points for the bracket, look at RPO 408 sheet 12.00 in the FAM. That is what I based my brackets on (I found a stock truck in 85 to use as a template). The only side support I have is a restraining cable to limit engine rotation, with the transfer case mass behind the auto trans the trans bellshousing is the weak point and can crack under severe loading. The stock V8's used the cast iron bellhousing mount which limited rotation. I used the stock trans/transfer case rear mount, it is located where they join. The peg mounts work fine, and you can still get the rubber parts at Napa or Oriellys, 55-57 cars use the same mounts too.

Re: are these mounts v6 or v8
If those mounts are on little brackets at the back of the frame and the brackets are bolted or riveted on, they are V8.
but if they are just bolted through the crossmember, they are for a 6 |
