Might have a problem
Ok my truck hasent seen the road scince August and its kinda been sitting there , i have started it up and let it run so nothing went wrong with it , so i decided to do a littile checking on the underbody for the hell of it and on my " Y " pipe i noticed what looked to be soaked in oil , any one got any ideas to what it could be , i have a couple ideas such as the oil plug was tightend in to far or maybe a blown ring any one have the same problem or is it just me please help

Let me see here................
You have a problem with a Chevy truck leaking oil?????? I thought they all leaked oil. My Z/28 leaks every fluid except battery acid. Seriously.....it is probably the rear main seal.....or fifty other things. |

could be almost anything rear main seal, valve cover or head gaskets oil filter or plug

Ditto on the mark. Mine was coming from the oil filler tube that was in the valve cover. I took it off, and just put the cap on the cover. Problem solved.

yea it took 3 days fro my new motor to mark its spot why is it that chevy valve covers never stay tight
