Hopeful new owner, have a few questions
So I've been looking for a blazer or burb for past month. Have found at 71 or 72 jimmy, the guy has said he will sell to me... Hes just has to find the title. It has been setting for approx 30 years. Tires have been stolen, some lights, bumper, etc.
Questions 1. Will 33inch tires, 4inch suspension, no body lift, still clear a normal garage door? 2. How wide will it be with 33X12.5 tires, on 15X10 rims with 4.25 back spacing? (fit on my trailer?) 3. The fender wells were cut out sometime in its life for large tires. On the rear, there is a panel that goes from the inner skin, to the outter skin. I am not seeing this on lmc's site/book. Is this part of the patch panels, or no? 4. It has manual steering. I would like to convert to power. On my dads 67 we had to heat the frame and beat it in for the larger box. I thought I read/heard somewhere that this was "fixed" on later models. Should the power box just bolt on up? 5. I have read on the site the larger tanks from the 73-91 blazer/burbs fit in fairly easy. I never did see, is the ohm reading for the gas gauge correct? Or does something need modded?

Re: Hopeful new owner, have a few questions
The only one I can answer for sure is whether or not it will fit through a normal garage door with 33" tires and 4" lift. The answer is yes, but you may need to adjust the door so that it utilizes as much of the track as possible when opening/closing. Also you will have to buy a shorter antenna or remove it altogether. I have the same height specs and it barely fits.

Re: Hopeful new owner, have a few questions
I am assuming that by normal garage door, it is about 7 ft tall. I was able to get my blazer in my 7 ft door with 7 inches of lift (6" suspention and 1" body) by airing down the rear tires that were 38" swampers. But I had to back in and my approach was level. When I went to the 35" boggers I still needed to air down a little to squeek it in. But most the time I was parking it in the garage,, I was taking the top off for the summer. Then I didn't have to air down. 33's and a 4" lift, you shouldn't have much issue.

5. The tank will fit but I think you had to move the rear crossmember and the filler neck is not quite right.
4. 67-72 frames have the provision for the power steering gear box. 3. the inner panel is part of the entire quarter panel and as far as I know they do not make an inner patch panlel. 2. not sute 1. yes. I have 33" tires and 4" lift with and extra 1" block. I bent the antenna to lay back towards the windshield. |

Make sure u get a title. Some states laws make it harder to get a replacement title if it came to that. No title drops the $ dramatically.
