Question on current value please

I'm looking to thin my stable a bit, and have decided that one of my Blazers if not both will go up for sale in the very near future. I am curious what you guys and gals think the value is and opinion on an asking price.

Here is some information and recent pictures,

1972 CST Blazer converted to 2wd
5 lug all around (73 up front a-arms, brakes, rotors)
3.73 posi (still leaf spring axle)
Rallye wheels
Nice Double wall top and hatch
new windshield (not installed yet)
mismatched front buckets (one black and one blue but no brackets)
Rear seat
great tub with really only minor work required (see pictures)
Factory Tach
had factory A/C
nice oem front fenders and good core support
good inner fenders
nice hood
no inner or outer grill shell or bumpers

Around here you'd be lucky to get 2 grand out of it. It's a desirable year, but with no drive train and lots of parts to reassemble not enough people would be interested for the price to get much higher than that.

I think you'd get more but not as much as you'd get parting it out sadly...unfinished projects only sell for pennies on the dollar in today's economy...

I agree, selling unfinished projects is a tough deal. The money involved to bring it back tip top (depending on ones vision) keeps most potential buyers at bargain basement prices for projects. Not like these trucks are super rare or have a special digit in the vin or a code on the data plate that jacks the price up either.

Best bet would be to hang onto them if at anyway possible, and attack them at a later date, even if it's a few years. I've held onto a couple projects here for more than 30 years Simple fact is,,,I can't replace them now for what I paid for them back then.

Seems when you get rid of stuff it's even harder to replace it later, so I keep them.

I totally agree and it sounds very much like what the little voice in my head was saying... i have what's needed to make it a runner. so I will most likely do that if it's still around after the weekend.

If you got it as a runner and sprayed it all one color....even primer or satin black...it would be a 6-8k truck if not a little more to the right person.

I'm about 7 hours West of Spokane, just outside Portland. Let me think on a possible trade, can you pm me some info and pictures?
if I don't do some sort of trade deal, I believe I am going to put the remaining parts into it to make it move under it's own power and spend a few hours on the body making it all one color. As mentioned above, and I agree it should make the value considerably more. If that happens, I have a big block and turbo 400 to stuff in, and might also swap out the stock front springs just to level it out some.

Sounds like you might not be too far from Battle Ground, Washington. That's where I went to buy my 79 1 ton years ago.
