Bolt attaching front fender to upper cab?
Guys, of all the trucks I have had, none of them have had this bolt. My question is, where the fender meets the upper cowl on the cab, there is a very large bolt hole on the fender, and a normal size thread hole in the outer cowl panel, if that makes sense. What goes in this hole? I am referring to the last bolt going towards the cab on the top inner side where the inner and outer fender bolt together. It almost looks like it could be for a cam-style bolt for adjustment. Am I correct? Where can I get this bolt? It is most definitely not the same as the others that go on the fender.

Re: Bolt attaching front fender to upper cab?
If it's anything like my Camaro there should be a bolt with a large washer. You shim the fender to set the gaps and then crank down the bolt. I know on the Camaro the washer is really thick. Maybe that will help....if not maybe someone on here is more familiar with the truck you are working on. Good luck

Re: Bolt attaching front fender to upper cab?
I have been looking for info on removing just the fenders on my '55 2nd series 3100 and spotted this discussion. Maybe you guys can help an old man?
When the '89-'93 S10 front clip was welded on to my '55's frame the installer did not get the fenders on properly. The inner fenders hit the top of the frame and need to be trimmed and then the entire fenders adjusted 'cuz there is a large gap at the bottoms of both fenders to the doors. I see the bolts holding the inner fenders to the outer fenders (all along the top edge). I do not know if the inner and outer fenders need to be unbolted from each other or not? Maybe this can be done with them still together (after trimming the inner fenders). The Radiator Support was not even in the truck nor was the proper Radiator (which was zip-tied in place. I want to get the fenders aligned properly before securing he Radiator Support and Radiator in place. Thus, there are NO connections between the Radiator Support and the Fenders to unbolt, YET. I have not located what needs to be unbolted to release the fenders from the cab (my old bones don't bend very well any more). Can anyone advise me where the bolts are located that hold the Fenders to the Cab please? Murf |

Re: Bolt attaching front fender to upper cab?
a bolt with a fender washer goes here. Your mount may be kind of square but in the same place

Re: Bolt attaching front fender to upper cab?
If I'm reading your post right, there should be three bolts on each side that you need to remove. The one at the top rear of the fender, the one inside the bottom rear of the fender, and there's one at the lower rear of the inner fender. If there's no radiator support I think you should be able to remove the front clip as a unit after removing these six bolts unless the po fabbed some kind of mount at the front.

Re: Bolt attaching front fender to upper cab?
you are correct sir. After removing those 6 bolts and disconnecting the hoses and wires the entire clip will come off in 1 piece

Re: Bolt attaching front fender to upper cab?
Sounds good. I assume you mean they are either in the engine compartment (somewhere) or up under the body where the fender meets the cab. NOT on the front of the door frame where the door hinges are. Correct? About 3/4" or 11/16" bolt heads? Thank you. Boy, you're fast!!
