Seatbelts
What are most guys using for seatbelts? I have a 56 pick up with a 1990 bench seat. Is the wreckers the way to go as new seem pricey.
Also if I went with over shoulder belt how would you safely secure top into upper rear cab corners |

Re: Seatbelts
I used Dodge Durango belts from a junkyard for $20. They are longer than most, since you have to bolt them to the floor. I had to drill a hole in the side and weld a washer and nut inside to make it work. Just a piece of angle at the bottom, with a huge washer underneath.

Re: Seatbelts
I used Juliano's belts. Not as cheap as junkyard but all new stuff. Even if you are going the junkyard route it might be worth your time to watch this installation.

Re: Seatbelts
I used Wesco Performance 3 pt. with the 12" sleeve for bucket seats. They appear to be a little cheaper than Juliano's and could be from the same supplier, don't know. Seat belts are one thing I probably wouldn't hit the junk yard for.

Re: Seatbelts
I've always used junkyard seatbelts or more often belts salvaged out of a car I scrapped myself but lately I've become worried about using a 30 year old or older seat belt that I know nothing about in a truck or car we plan to do some serious road trips in. You go to the wrecking yard and you don't have any idea of the history of the car or the seat belts or if they have been sitting out in the sun for the past 30 years.

Re: Seatbelts
The build thread has details on the seat install and what I am doing behind the seats. I made a frame that accepted the Yukon seat assuming GM engineers the seat frames and belts to work together. I attached the frame to the stock truck mounting locations for the same reason. The third row seats are designed to be flip flat for cargo and to be easily pitched forward for removal. I wanted the easy access under and behind the seat (truck will be used as DD and for fishing, etc.). I got the idea from blazer and suburban guys that are using them to replace the stock second row seats.
