gas tank interchangeability? 88up tanks fit?

hello there, ive got an 87 longbox chevy.. my tank was for deisel so its not baffled, i want to run an intank electric fuel pump in a baffled tank.... i know i could try to find an 87 TBI tank but they are not that common in my experience and if i see one its rotten... will a tank from a longbox 1988 up fit? has anyone done that?

any info appreciated... reason i ask is i could easily get a tank like that at a yard.

88-91 square crew, yes.
88 up regular trucks, no.

Check rockauto.com for 87 tanks and sending units.
