need some help with a T5 install
I have a 67 c10 long box with a 4 speed floor shift, with granny gear bolted to a 327, and it looks like I have a high hump 6". I've been looking at a lot of threads in the last week and have not been able to locate anything that talks about if the t5 will work in a high hump? Also, my 4 speed does not look like anything that I have found in the pictures. Mine is very short with no tail end. The shifter boot is very close to the dash. Has anyone done this t5 swap in a 67-72 chevy truck...have any pictures as to where the shifter will end up? Also, how can i find out what gear ratio I have in the rear axle without taking the back cover of? what's the most cost effective way a t5 or a 700r4 ? I'm thinking the t5 since I already have the clutch setup and won't have to chance my steering column, any help is very much appreciated

Re: need some help with a T5 install
I too have been considering this swap. I have pretty much the identical truck as you. These tech threads pretty much sum everything up. You will have no problem getting that trans under a high hump. I would locate another hump cover to cut the hole so you don't ruin the orig one. The camaro gearbox with the s 10 tail seems the way to go!!
