How to replace heat riser valve spring
How the heck do you get this little devil off the heat riser without removing the exhaust manifold and how do you install the new spring - Any hints

Re: How to replace heat riser valve spring
Don't know about the spring but I just changed the gasket on my 283, had to remove the pipe at both manifolds and drop it down. The heat riser itself fits between the manifold and the down pipe and slips off the manifold studs once the pipe is out of the way. A 6cyl may be easier if you can get the pipe to swing out of the way enough. I had to remove both sides as well as unbolt the tailpipe flange and drop the whole crossover piece out but like I said that was a v8.

Re: How to replace heat riser valve spring
Thanks for the info - Mine is a 292 6-cyldr - Looks like I should be able to slide it out of the slot but it doesn't want to budge
